 PURPOSE/AIM
 
The purpose of this exhibit is: •To recognize the imaging features of a variety of rib lesions •To describe the imaging evaluation of rib lesions identified on various imaging modalities, with an emphasis on CT •To discuss differential diagnosis and appropriate management of rib pathology
  
 CONTENT ORGANIZATION
 
•Anatomy (Rib, Costal Cartilage, Costovertebral articulation) •Imaging evaluation of various rib lesions •Discussion of key diagnostic features and differential diagnosis •Preferred imaging modalities and patient management
  
 SUMMARY
 
Teaching points: 1. The ribs are involved in a variety of metabolic, iatrogenic, traumatic, infectious, neoplastic, and inflammatory conditions. They can provide significant diagnostic information. 2. Encountering common disorders in the ribs may be confusing because of the unusual location. 3. Appropriate imaging evaluation of rib lesions is critical 4. Accurate recognition and description of imaging features of rib pathology facilitates appropriate differential diagnosis and management
