| | PURPOSE/AIM |
| |
To provide an educational exhibit of the presentation, radiological imaging finding’s, distribution and classification with pathological correlation, of the nodal and solid organ involvement of metastatic malignant melanoma. Illustrate the characteristics appearances and discuss differentials were appropriate, in particular differentiating it from other neoplasm’s.
|
| | |
| | CONTENT ORGANIZATION |
| |
Through an Institutional experience we will provide a pictoral review of the various presenting imaging features (typical and atypical, MRI signal intensity due to paramagnetic effect of melanin, haemorrhagic metastasis findings), classification, consequences and guises of metastatic melanoma involving organs and systems. To illustrate its multi-systematic mode of involvement and spread, providing a case by case review of its gastrointestinal, thoracic, musculoskeletal and head and neck metastatic disease.
|
| | |
| | SUMMARY |
| |
Malignant melanoma is a common disorder, its incidence is increasing faster then any other. It accounts for 1% of all cancer deaths. It is the most serious of skin cancer as metastasis can occur early, and it causes deaths even in young people. Through this review we hope to provide an informative concise guide of both common and uncommon radiographic (Plain radiograph/CT/MRI/PET) findings. Allowing confident radiological diagnosis on imaging grounds.
